
ERP Consultant
Description
We are seeking a results-driven Consultant, ERP will play a critical, hands-on role in leading and executing client implementations within the ERP team. This role is responsible for end-to-end ERP implementation, system configuration, client training, and ongoing support, while also owning project tracking, deliverables, and deadlines. By combining technical expertise, problem-solving, and strong client communication, this consultant ensures that projects are executed successfully and deliver measurable value to clients.
The Consultant, ERP will also contribute to solution design, process optimization, and revenue growth through client relationship management and business development support.
A portion of your role will involve billable client work, including direct client interactions, where you will leverage your accounting and advisory expertise to deliver services and will be expected to meet defined utilization and project delivery targets while maintaining high client satisfaction.

This position will report to the Team Manager(s), ERP. This position can be located in either our office in Cape Town, Durban, or the ability to work remotely in the Gauteng province with ability to travel to the Cape Town office as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Global Support
- This role operates within a global framework requiring availability to support teams and meet deadlines across different time zones with international partners.
- May participate in industry conferences and global networking groups to drive business growth. Focus on expanding services and identifying market opportunities that align with evolving client needs, ensuring both regional and international relevance.
Client Implementation & Delivery
- Own project lifecycle for assigned ERP implementations, including planning, tracking, and completion of deliverables.
- Configure ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Sage 300) based on client requirements.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and system validation to ensure accurate setup and functionality.
- Lead client training sessions and provide documentation for system use.
- Maintain billable utilization and meet project deadlines with accuracy and consistency.
Project Tracking & Accountability
- Track all assigned project tasks in the ERP team’s system of record, ensuring visibility on progress, risks, and blockers.
- Communicate proactively with clients and internal stakeholders regarding timelines and deliverables.
- Flag scope changes and risks early, providing recommendations for resolution.
Client Relationship Management
- Build trusted relationships with clients, ensuring strong communication throughout implementation.
- Act as a point of contact for support questions or escalations during projects.
- Identify opportunities for client growth and process improvements.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Work closely with senior consultants, project leads, and managers to support team success.
- Contribute to documentation of processes, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Participate in internal training to strengthen ERP delivery skills.
Cross-Functional Support & Client Retention
- Collaborate with other departments, including Sales and Finance, to support smooth service operations.
- Assist Sales in driving new business opportunities and upselling ERP services.
- Provide technical assistance where needed to ensure cross-functional success.
- Work closely with the Sales team to establish strong client communication strategies, ensuring regular engagement.
- Intervene in client disputes or concerns that need to be managed at the team manager level, ensuring quick resolution.
Innovation & Change Management Support
- Actively participate in a culture of innovation, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and approaches that improve client service and operational effectiveness.
- Support the ERP team through organizational and technological changes, ensuring a smooth transition to new systems and processes while maintaining productivity.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities for improving internal processes, systems, and service offerings, driving innovation and enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Implementation Team.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, and emerging technologies to provide informed recommendations and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications
- 3+ experience in ERP implementations, with direct configuration and delivery responsibility or related professional services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or related field or in lieu of degree 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong expertise in ERP systems and compliance processes.
- 3+ years of Intacct experience
- 3+ years working in a multi-client, multi-time zone environment.
- Experience in managing teams, developing training programs, and optimizing workforce productivity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Preferred Experience
- Demonstrated success in supporting operational efficiency, process improvements, and cost optimization.
- Experience working with teams within a remote global or multi-regional environment.
- Background in process automation and payroll technology solutions.
- Experience using Asana, Monday, or Task Document Management systems.
- Strong experience in client retention strategies and business development initiatives.
Work Environment
Work can take place either in an open office setting or remote setting with the expectation to travel onsite based on business and management needs. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work a flexible and regular full-time schedule. It requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time and communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and by computer.
